5 Questions To Realign Your Business to God
Updated: Jan 20
The internet has done it again!
Over the years there has been a influx of people starting to grow their faith based business, blog, or ministry all with a swipe or press of a finger. The internet has made it possible for people to impact not only those around them, but those living in different continents. Although these individuals are passionate about their brands, only a little over 2% thrive in their business because they followed through. You see many of them are great at planning but what they are lacking is consistency. Please keep in mind I am not speaking about those who make their blog or side business a hobby, but those who are attempting to make it there full time JOB!
As I began my journey with She Commands, I realized that blogging took up so much of my time. I mean it was amazing to see that people enjoyed my content, but was this business about God or the people. You guessed it, I became fascinated with the idea that people all over the world where enjoying the content I put out. The "Virtual" love I was receiving was amazing that I forgot why I was blogging in the first place.
One day God spoke to me and said "remember when you began this journey you had none. Don't get wrapped up in the numbers that you forget why I positioned you to write". It then hit me that I was distracted by the numbers. I would get frustrated and upset when people would unfollow me and hurt when people stopped commenting on my instagram post.
I know it was silly for me, but at the time I just broke of an engagement and it felt amazing to feel wanted by my followers. I truly loved the "virtual" love. Come to find out in that moment I realized that I traded God's Love for virtual reality love. After much needed conversations with the Lord, I came to grips that my business was not lead by me nor was it created to praise me but to praise Jesus. I had to let go of the idea that I was the CEO of She Commands but only in a partnership with God. I positioned my way of thinking and was led to these five questions that realigned my business to Jesus.
Here Are The Five Questions That Will Help You Realign Your Business To God:
1) How does my work in business contribute to God’s kingdom?
2) Are you fulfilling God's Will over your life?
3) Why should I create a purpose-filled business?
4) Have you prayed over your audience and business?
5) How should business be done from God's Perspective
Sometimes we must ask ourselves these questions to remember that the purpose of our faith-based business is greater than ourselves. You must remember that your business was entrusted to you by God to support and reach individuals in order to bring glory to HIS NAME. I know that the fame and notoriety can fog you but remember that uplifting his name and bringing people to Jesus should be your end goal and don't you ever forget it.
Colossians 3:17 ESV
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
